Once upon a time, in June of 1959, a small group of passionate community members came together to produce Sabrina Fair in the Arrowhead South Campus gymnasium. This debut production marked the beginning of what would later become Lake Country Players (LCP).

After 43 years of performing in various venues across Lake Country, including Hartland Community Hall, Oconomowoc High School, Lakeside Country Club, and the Little Theatre at Arrowhead, LCP realized its dream of a permanent home in 2002 with the acquisition of the historic Masonic Lodge. This beloved building was transformed into an intimate 82-seat black box theater, enabling expanded programming and a greater impact on the community.

For over 65 years, Lake Country Playhouse has been a vibrant hub for the performing arts - a place where stories come to life, artists and audiences connect, and arts education thrives. Today, we are bursting at the seams, and it’s time to write the next chapter of our story.

We are excited to announce the launch of our capital campaign, Write the Next Chapter, with a goal to raise $500,000 for the first phase of a major expansion at Lake Country Playhouse!

This campaign will fund the construction of new Production Studios and vital facility improvements. These upgrades will not only enhance our ability to create world-class productions but will also improve the theater-going experience for all patrons and lay the foundation for future ADA accessibility.

• Expanded Creative and Educational Facilities: Dedicated spaces for set construction, costume design, and storage, allowing for enhanced artistic collaboration and efficient production.

• New Bathrooms: Modern, accessible restrooms to enhance comfort for patrons and artists.

• Future ADA Accessibility: Construction of a roughed-in elevator shaft to prepare for full ADA accessibility in Phase 2.
